ROC City Sailing is honored to partner with the Genesee Yacht Club as part of the Christopher Mancini Memorial Regatta, taking place September 19, 2026 at Genesee Yacht Club in Rochester, NY. The regatta celebrates Chris’s love of sailing through a day of racing, community, and time on the water.
Donations raised through the regatta will directly support ROC City Sailing’s youth scholarship program, helping cover the cost of sailing classes and adventure sails for young sailors across the Greater Rochester area who couldn’t otherwise afford them. Beginning in 2027, scholarships awarded through this fund will be given in Chris’s memory as the Chris Mancini Youth Sailing Scholarship, ensuring his connection to the sport continues through the next generation of sailors.
An Eagle Scout and RIT graduate who worked as a network engineer, Chris was happiest outdoors — sailing his boat, Glorious Day, hunting, fishing, or out on the trails. He had a simple way of inviting the people he loved into that joy: “Let’s go for a sail.” Chris especially loved introducing kids to sailing, and this fund carries that part of his legacy forward.
